Little Doward Hillfort History
The Iron Age Hillfort makes a striking feature on the summit of the Little Doward, 724 feet above the Wye.
As well as being defensive, the banks and ditches which surround the upper enclosure of the fort were also a statement of the prestige of the people who lived here, much as Blakemore’s 19th century picturesque landscaping was!
